2TG questions

Just a few questions about the 2TG?
What temp should the engine run normally? I just got the engine fitted today and the temp sits on about 80 or maybe just a tad under. Is this about right?
Next question, what should the oil pressure be at high revs and at idle? Once the oil warms up the pressure really drops, much more than it did with my 2T
Last question, what grade oil should I be running in this engine? Currently it has some 20/50 oil whereas in my 2T I used to run a grade thicker, what ever that is
Any help? Thanks

Two thermostat switching points are specified for 2T-G, each 8# degrees celcius. I'll dig up my tech doc at home.

at race speed mine get's really high, but once the oil is cooking like after a fair few laps it's extremly low, but the pressure itself dosn't drop.

Isn't that a Nissan van? Actually, you're right now that I think of it. I guess I was preconditioned to expect a Toyota.

Cool 1,
If you old oil was thicker it would have caused the higher oil pressure.
Personally I ran BP course plus and only ever used the Genuine oil filter.
The thermostat controls at what temp your engine runs so it is most likely a 82 degree item. I used to run the cooler 73 degree thermostat in mine and it loved it. (made more power too !)

Thanks Rod. Is the BP course plus a grade of oil? Or is there many grades within that type?
