if someone rebuilds it for you you would be looking at around the 2k- 2.5k to do it properly. works out better just getting another low km one from an importer as they are around the $800 mark.

rebuilding it yourself if you use the original pistons and rods shouldn't cost more than just over $1k including machining - this is dependant on the condition of the block and the stuff that you pull out of it though!

i suppose i should have added.

engine.
acid clean and bore approx $150
balance " $150
sevice head " $350
new pistons " $300-400
rings $120
bearings $140
welsh plugs $20
vrs kit depending which one$250
sealant $20
waterpump $80+
oilpump $100
injector clean $80+

if you dont do it like this you are better of just getting a replacement low k engine.
mick
p.s if the engine has done ove approx 150k km the bores will be ovalized so you have to take them to the next size, same with big ends and mains.
