18rc and 18rg mods Sat, 15 May 2004 10:03 Go to next message
Im currently turboing my 18rg and am lowering the compression using 18rc pistons. Is it possible to put 18rg pistons back into a 18rc to raise the compression. Im also thinking of chucking a webber or something on the rc and also some home porting with the diegrinder on the head and manifolds. Is this possible..
(NOTE- Im only doing this as a bit of fun to get my boat anchor going a bit faster and just to have a bit of a play around) All input would be great. Thanks

Ben

The dome on the 18RG piston will not match the combustion chamber of the 18RC, so in short no.

The 18RC with a Weber and decent extractors go well for a budget motor.

I used a Weber off a 2L Escort with an adapter plate (few years ago). I found the Weber to make a fairly noticeable difference to power over the stock carby.

Always bolt on some nice 13" Corolla wheels to make it easier to spin Very Happy
