The bellhousing will have a cast letter in the back of it, which is hidden once you bolt a gearbox too it, look for it on that mounting face, it will tell you what it suits. My guess would be S series, but not sure of their clutch setup (which side). It's safe to assume it was from a car with the exhaust on the rigth hand side as the clutch is on the left hand side.?

And to me too, and as CLG said, clean it and find the letter cast into the surface. It looks like the 1G bellhousing I have on my 1G-GZE with the clutch lever on the left hand side.

i bought it off an importer and he said it was out of a ga70 (had mk3 rear location shifter)
But charles bough around an auto plate around and its a smaller diameter than the bellhousing..same pattern tho :S
its not out of an s series celica either...its got the steel sandwich plate
