Cool. The bloke that wrote the artical actually called me at home on the Friday after Dubbo for some more info. I've been hanging out since then.

See "on the road to Dubbo" thread in the war stories and track talk; the engine combination was fired into life at 3:30am on the Tuesday before Dubbo, tuned on Wed, head re-torqued and car washed on Thur, DRIVEN to Dubbo on Friday.
Driven to track on Sunday and an 8.1 for the first pass.
Apart from that the story is furnished with small inaccuracies.
