4age sprinter wastes VL, but...

yeah well the other week i was driving around in a mate's 4ag sprinter and happened to see someone i knew who, the day before was arguing with me about if a 1.6 liter car could beat his "full siccc" vl, its been worked a bit but nothing too special. he also was under the impression that autos get a much better launch. anyway, i pull up at the lights after chasing him a bit, and then when he sees who it is he's like "yeah now i'll show you"
so, with the owner's permission, after a 4,500 launch and a bit of redlining in two gears he's easily beaten and impressed.
but thats not all, cos as i turned left at the end of the road and he turned right, my passenger saw a car take the corner sideways and go chase the vl. thinking not much of it, i drove myself home. anyways, it turned out that the cops had rocked up at the lights as we took off, and that was the night i found out that cops are using xr8's as unmarked cars now....
and also, the guy with the vl just traded it in for a turbo.....

hrm, but hammering in a straight line in a 1.6 n/a car is a little different to what happened to supragte (RIP)

PLUS, permission was given to hammer said car.
Still, I don't hammer friends cars as I don't have the cash lying around to suffer the consequences... I have learnt my lessons hammering my parents cars around.

umm well i'm sure that what happened to supragte's car was something a little more silly than what i did, and this incident was before that happened, from what i understand
i mean i slowed down as soon as it was obvious i beat the guy, and he just kept accelerating....... anyways..

Yeah ever since I read that post I have taken 100% care of my parents cars.
Like I never did anything stupid in them but I did "hoon" them a little. Not anymore. One thing I never did though was do anything in friends cars. Was up the coast the other night in a mates GTiR and he was telling me to race every car up there. I would pretend to and rev it to about 4000 rpm and change or change at 2000rpm to piss him off. But no way could I do it
