Im lookin at gettin a gasket set for my 2tg, i basiclly need
headgasket
water pump gasket
inlet manifold gasket
i looked at Stewart Wilkins motorsport down in sydney and they have the VRS kit, has anyone here bought one of these and is it worth buying? they told me it has the top half for head work but didnt tell me what it consisted of, maybe it would be better if i just grab the head and inlet gaskets off them, which in the end will be cheaper and i could probably make the water pump one out of gasket sheet??
any sugestions appreciated.
Dont use a gasket for the water pump. Just get some Loctite blue max or something similar.
I bought a VRS kit just the other day for the 2TG and it was about $125.
Consists of:
Head gasket
Inlet manifold gasket
Zorst manifold gasket
Gaskets for carbys
Tappet cover
Valve seals
Zorst flange
Wilkins supplied me with KP gaskets (osaka Japan) they are a very good quality gasket.
You can get a conversion kit from ACL - it needs to be the one to suit the 2T-G as the timing covers are different to the 2T-C.
