the way to stop yourself from getting a hangover is to just keep on drinking and not stop

Not mix drinks - thats easy to say when you're sober but after a dozen beers a few shooters seem like a really good idea
Agreed on your points though, also a Berocca before bed helps a lot too.

yeps... water and a berocca before sleep, and some fruit in the morning (and maybe a coffee to get those eyelids open) puts back in everything the alcohol took out

also i've noticed that if you spit up your guts before you go to bed you don't get a hangover due to you not going to sleep with a stomach full of alchy

well yes but that's a fairly extreme cure plus after that, you'd still want to have some water, or you'd be very dehydrated (plus having a mouth tasting of bile and HCl)

yeah, when I go to the pub with the guys, I usually volunteer to be designated driver... I'm a bit more of a social drinker than anything else... few beers, make sure I'm close to 0.000 when it comes time to drive. then I sometimes splurge at parties, make myself violently ill for days afterwards, then learn my lesson for 6 months or so, then splurge again

having a few drinks is good for your remember that IQ test thing? well out of drinkers Wine/Beer drinkers were at the top with the highest IQ then it went spirit drinkers and the people with the lowest IQ's were the non drinkers so how can you say alchole kills brain cells?
so therefor i drink but just to keep my IQ high
longest i went without dirnking was like 6 months and that was about 3-4 years ago after i went camping on the top of the hill at Bathurst to watch the V8's i never wanted to touch the drink again after that.

I, too, gave up drinking once...worst 20 minutes of my life!
Seriously, though, I NEVER drink and drive. At all. Period. Even when I was 18, if I had a "skin-full", I'd sleep at a mates place or whatever; generally a planned thing.
As for hangover cures, I generally only drink beer, and I make sure that I drink at least the same amount of water prior to going to bed.
Works for me...

Being a uni student, I am know to partake in a little alcholic beverage consumption, but my word of advise: Water and bread/crackers.
Before you sleep: Bread to soak up any alcohol; as much water as you can tank.
When drinking. Work your way up the drinking chain. Beer ->spirits ORWine -> Spirits or beer->beer NO GOING BACK.
Recipie for disaster: wine, beer spirits and shoots. Case of "not drinking ever agian..." next day.
Jaz Thing is though, on those blinder night's when you catch the beer scooter home, you never remember to drink or eat anything and it just makes things worse!

I mixed my drinks last saturday night, was the first time I mixed stuff. Had shots, beers, girl drinks, everything that was available. The Chartruese killed me. That screwed me up for the night. I had to work the next day, and I was blind, so I went to go to sleep. I felt really dizzy, so I thought I might feel better if I threw up and then drink lots of water and eat left over pizza. I drank too much water so I threw up again (bloated stomach), and then I had more water, had a multivitamin and went to sleep.
I slept for a good 10 hours (usually I sleep around 5 hours after getting pissed) and I woke up slightly thirsty and hungry, but I wasn't feeling ill. So I think throwing up before sleeping worked, coz usually I sober up before sleeping and I feel okay or if I'm blind and sleep, I wake up feeling like shit. So even though it sux I threw up, it was beneficial to having a good sleep. Dunno if the multivitamin did anything, but if it did, it sure made me feel okay the next morning.

Too much water is actually not good because it washes away any nutrients that you may have had left in you. Some is far better than none though. You are better off going for a sports re-hydration drink. They work a treat the morning after too.
So I take it no-one has tried this new Alcodol tablet then? I might be the guinea pig - I'll keep you posted on its effectiveness.

another tip, go for atleast a 1/2 hour walk after you've finished drinking.. it can't be a lazy walk, make it a relatively quick pace and the hangover won't be near as bad the next day.
i've done it heaps of times and i've always felt better than when i didn't walk home.

MMmm.... sounds like a friend of mine. he drank 1.5 liters of cooking sherry, which cost him $4 for 2 liters. All you had to do was mention the stuff to watch him go green and pukey... Ah, the days of being a cheap messy drunk
