some old holden motor like 202 etc had 6psi at idle which was ok but it should be over 10 on a toyota motor even an old one. check you gauge or if electric check sender. if its that low at idle it will be low at revs which isnt good. more likely a guege or sender prob but make sure as its a pain in the butt to break down and have to get a tow.

you should have more like 40-60psi when running..

sure it is psi and not some other unit?

or is it 8 (x10) psi?

think you will find if it only goes to 8 its a kg/cm gauge which is fine to have a reading of 1-2. and 3.5 at revs

1 kg/cm^3 roughly equals one bar, or one ATM, which roughly equals 15 PSI

shinybluesteel: thanx for clarifing that, as my supra oil guage only has kg/cm measurment, i was worried my idle at 3-4 kg/cm was way low.
