Does anybody know how to determine (Roughly anyway) what the optimal length for Headers and/or extractors i have a 21-RC and have decided to ditch the 'log' of a manifold it has stock i would prefer the power higher in the revs...Any help would be greatly appreciated

yeah but mine is going into my TA22 cos its a huge upgrade over a stock 2Tc. despite what people say about it 30% more power and more of a torque increase for about $100 and some time is worth it...

I had a 21rc in the ra60 celica that I had....that I ended up giving to wreckers by the way...but anyway....the thing is that extractors and a decently flowing system are all you can really do to these things and i think you need to consider that in the frst place, doing anything more is an absolute waste of money.

BUT....on the length thing..I can't tell you sorry....if hurricane make headers for them then get them, i think they are better then genies (which I had), the only way to really determine the length will be to get it dynoed and then modify the extractors to suit by cutting and shutting them. Very expensive with all the dicking around.

I don't think the 21rc is going to be revving to a point that the length is really going to be an issue.

one thing I can say for them is that they are very very tough...they just don't respond well to modification for some reason.

Thanx finally someone who has some knowledge on them, and its not important for me to modify it further than extractors as later i am going to ditch it for something better anyway, i just dont know what yet

cool...the other thing with the hurricane's (theres another brand too, always advertise as having the most unrestrictive setup but be stuffed if i can remember who they are!)is that they have great big primaries, which is always a good thing, might even give a few more revs.

I found the extractors and a nice unrestrictive 2" system allowed me to pull a higher gear through a lot of low speed corners which was nice, nothing to special just second instead of first and stuff like that.
