Is there any similarities between the front end of an old supra ( eg MA61) and an RT142. i want to know if the 25mm front sway bar from a supra would fit into a corona. Also will the front struts out of a ma61 fit an RT142.
cheers.

Yeah the MA61 has a different top spring seat and spring compared to RA65, also i think they might have more of a king pin angle (more -ve camber) but I'm not 100% sure on that, jemery/ed (others?)?

And something I found out the weekend before last, the MA61 lower control arm is slightly longer than the RA60 one. So for all thoes RA60 drivers that want an extra 0.5 degrees negative camber you know where to go

no celica people use the rt132.
some people put ra65 stuff into the earlier celicas but this stuff up the geomatry a bit, but it is right for the rt142(whcih is built same era, it's actually quite the same car. well the import ones are)

The RA60/65 struts should be the same. All things equal, the RA60/65 struts give 2 degrees extra camber over the MA61 by themselves, and coupled with the MA61 control arms this should be even more.

jcmf, where do SA63 struts sit in the scope of things? The same kingpin as MA61 or RA60/65? (guessing the same as RA60/65?)

I'd be speculating, but I don't think Toyota would've re-engineered new struts for them.

I believe that they should bolt to the existing steering arms.
If that is the case then the existing steering arms and rack will be retained.
