Corona JUST got beat by a V8 VH

raced a V8 dore last night, was in 2nd at about 2000rpm, we both hit it at the same time and my car started missing as it does, and by about 300m down the road he was only just able to pull in front of me, i was laughing my tits off

i've blown a 5.0 vl off the lights had him up to 120 to
he wasnt happy

my sisters old VH 253 manual only ran 17.2 in the hands of a very good driver, and that thing went ok, read: did good skids

 I managed to keep up with a 253 Commodore with my 202 powered WB Holden once I thought that was pretty cool till I got told that the motor in the commodore was pretty fucked and wasn't running well (Dam I thought I had a V8 beater!) I should of wacked a 253 or 308 in me ute (even better burnouts) that thing did some wicked skids he he well she'd wanna for a ute!

maybe he was only driving hard enough to just beat you knowing that you had no chance. probably didnt wanna waste anymore petrol

my GZ20 is stock as a rock (apart from pod filter) and I smoke any Carby fed 5.0l ford or holden. How did you lose to one in yours??

Driving my corona on Friday night RT142 22re i was being tailgated by a VL. Huge exhaust etc. He pulls along side and then boots it. I do the same and race up to the next roundabout. I had to change into his lane as car in front slowed me down. Follow him for few kays until into Camden. He drops it through a roundabout and cuts off a terios. I change back to second boot and take off into the distance by the time I turn off I've lost him.
Later that night a VY SS ute grows larger in my rear view mirror. Sitting on 90 him about 130. He passes me and I floor it in fifth. I wind my car out in fifth no change down and leave him for dead. Glance down at speedo about 20 kays off the clock about 185km/ph after factoring in smaller tyres. Hit brakes and fly around the best banked corner in my area.
Not to bad for a 85 corona with 400K on the clock.
