T50 Tailshaft Mon, 24 May 2004 08:08 Go to next message
I have a KE20 with a 4AGZE complete with a T50 gearbox, i thought i had the right tailshaft but it turned out it didn't fit with the gearbox.

I have RA60 brakes and diff, and it is kept as a rear wheel drive.

I was wondering where to get a tailshaft, if i have to swap the ends thats no issue but what car do i get the tailshaft out of, is there a single piece one, and finally will there be any difference between the T50 gearboxes.

Regards
Ray Brindley

there is no tailshaft that will bolt in for you. get a custom one made.

i had a brand new one made up at CV in sunshine and it was $300 bucks it uses holden 1 tonner unis now - and is one piece and balanced.

the output shaft on the T50 for the A series and the T series are different yes. 20 vs 22 spline.

just out of interest does anyone actually have the end to fit into the tailshaft cos i think i have something that i can fit it onto but yeah i need the unis or whatever it is called

or a tailshaft at all i mean it shouldn't be hard to find a single piece long enough and i can change the ends over without too much trouble.

but other than that what tailshaft can i ask for from a wreckers

TA22? or something or is there something else. but yeah just somethi9ng to ask for shouldn't be too hard to find one from a toyota wreckers.
