4age parts identify help please? Mon, 24 May 2004 09:22 Go to next message
hey guys just a couple of quick questions

can anyone help me find where these hoses go to? The engine is the 100kw 4age

Thanks

http://www.users.on.net/calum/plugs.jpg

Where or what do these plugs go to? There is a connector on the main loom that has the orange connector on it and looks like it fits ok but the green one has had the wires cut off, just wondering what thats supposed to go to or can i just leave it not connected?

http://www.users.on.net/calum/top.jpg

These two pipes on the top of the inlet manifold, where to i run these to? charcoal canister?

http://www.users.on.net/calum/bottom.jpg

These hoses are on the bottom of the inlet manifold, again i'm not sure where these go to

Now cause im using the 4AC thermostat housing theres this vacuum pipe thingy with all these vacuum lines should i just block these up or do they go to anything?

Thanks for any help

1) Those are for the ecu, one is for water temp too help with the cold start and the other is to tell the computer what the water temp is,

2)One is for the charcol canister, and im not 100% sure but i believe the other runs to the airfilter housing, or maybe the idle up for the air-co im not sure which one someone will know.

3)Those two connect to the water line somewhere, on my rwd bluetop they go to the water pipes that run under the inlet manifold. I believe they are to cool/warm the throttle body.

4) while im not positive on this, you wont need any of those outlets, block them off.

I belive this to be correct, if not someone else may be-able to help.

1) as explained above both are sensors for the ecu, one for cold start the other is for engine temp, BOTH must be plugged on to the loom, get the pinouts from the Tech Docs section so you can do a continuity test to make sure the cut wires are the the ones you need to solder the plug back on to.

2)one goes to the charcoal canister the other goes to the aircon idle up adjuster valve.

3)block them off, theyre not needed, the two that you need to connect to the cooling system for idle up control are off to the left in that picture and go straight down, it dosent really matter which way round you plumb them either from memory.

4)you dont need to connect anything up there at all, in fact id pull the sensor out and buy a more accurate aftermarket electric temp gauge, throw its sender in there instead of the vacume port.
