I was thinking the same thing about the plenum but it is the first time that I have seen the inlet redirected. I think it is a great idea but a custom "well flowing" one would probably do it wonders.
Still if it does 13's then I guess you can't complain
Thanks GT.

Agree there. A better design on the plenum would get better power from the same boost.
However, you can't argue with a quick car, especially as mine isn't going yet !!

Don't worry. 13.8 @ 102 on taxi juice with full leather interior, street tyres, 9 lbs boost and THAT plenum. It has a shit load of potential .
Redirecting the flow on a 7MGTE is not new. I remember seeing it on a 7M years ago. Shortens the length of piping out of the intercooler and doesn't direct it over the hot engine to be rewarmed.

Right on there GT. I was toying with the idea of doing the 1J/2J style of things, but there are some issues (alternator clearance, battery clearance) with that, as well as the engine not being 'stock' anymore, and therefore invalidating the engineering approval.
My route will probably stick to a highflowed CT26/Lexus AFM/550cc injector route, and have fun in the Adelaide hills with good suspension & brakes and about 200 rwkW
then again, more power would be nice ......

I have seen some of these before, and if anything favour the adaptation of the 2JZ unit rather than some of the custom jobs, although the Ron Ramirez job looks very nice.
Better get my ass into gear and get mine onto the ground at least ....

Mind you, along with some other mods, Will Neely makes 730 rwhp with a std type inlet manifold, so they can't be that bad.
I'll stick with what I got and have fun from there before I bite off more than I can chew ....

Well, it's a little bit too ricy for me, but I like the mechanics of it all. Makes me a little jealous that mine's not on the road yet!

Forgeting the mechanics of these particular cars...which is pretty hard...is it fair to say these cars are getting harder to find than anyone thought they ever would?
When GT talks of registers with 20 cars in big place like Melb. when people are looking for them makes you wonder how many are left??
