FMIC Question Mon, 24 May 2004 22:24 Go to next message

You may have seen this in the parts wanted section, i posted it in the wrong place, if you did see it & ignored it thats fair enough, ignor it again, but if you can help i thank you in advance,

Now to the question, does any one here know of anywhere which produces FMIC kits for a 4A-GZE AE86?

If not thats cool, just curious whether i could get a kit or if it's going to have to be made custom,

Thanks for your time,

Michael, Smile

for an 86, its going to have to be custom, no one makes kits for these and in all honesty its probably cheaper for the custom job.

Talk to mick at micks Metal craft. his work is second to none.

Hey Michael,

I have the following for sale if your interested:

http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=msg&t h=27088&rid=1366&S=14dcf0ba06145313bde9393 70727649f&pl_view=&start=0#msg_234024

And I also have a custom intake pipe which feeds from the front of the engine instead of over the cam covers.

Make one yourself. Mount up the intercooler you want in the front. Then get some 2" mandrel bent bends and straights from a local exhaust shop. Cut up the bends as you need and run your piping from SC to IC and IC to intake. Tack weld (or gaffer tape) each section as you add it and then check it all fits. It's easier if you run a narrower radiator, but you can route them round the stock one if needs be. Custom intake pipe like Denis has is a good move too.

All up mine cost
- $20 in exhaust pipe
- $10 in alloy pipe to alter intake pipe
- $20 to have the finished product properly welded

Not pretty, but cheap and it works fine.
