just wondering the gains/advantages of the apexi S-ITC ignition timing controller on a bigport 4AGE?
when i get around to turbo'ing the engine, if i add a S-AFC air flow controller, will there be no need to have a new replacement ecu (eg microtech etc?)
or should i just save my pennies and buy the MTX-8?

aren't MTX8's pretty cheap? I would go that way if I were you. The only reason I am going to use a fuel computer is that I need an LTX12 which is a lot dearer than an MTX8.

from what I have heard you just end up sepending lots of money on individual components as you hit the limit of 1 you need another different one. Better off just getter a standalone computer first.

piggyback timing controllers are a decent alternative. You will want to retard your timing under boost when you start to push your combination. A fuel controller will only get you so far. MSD boost timing master is another such, adjustable unit and has been run sucessfully on 12, 11 and 10sec daily drivers. Piggybacks work.
safc + btm + stock ecu is very common. Most folks buy them used, so its hard to beat the dollar value.
