My old man LOVES his car to death, a 1975 Corolla after he bought it from near death (under 20ft of water for a few days in the basement of an appartment) and it has become part of the family now. He is moving out west NSW and needs a car that will do 100km/h easily (something it can't do at the moment). He doesn't want to get rid of the car because he wants to see how long it can live for and wants to put a 5 speed in it. WHats the type of gearbox he needs to be able to do this without too much fiddling around? How much do these cost? He doesn't want a speed deamond car but just something that does 100 easier than now. 80km/h at the moment this thing is doing 12,000rpm by the sounds of things ha ha ha ha
Thanks peoples

ke55 5sp is easiest. Straight bolt in. ke70 will also go but you have to cut the shifter hole back a bit in the tunnel (not hard), and make sure you get the bracket that goes between the g/box crossmember and the g/box. Also some had a coarse spline output shaft, and some are fine spline, you may have to switch yokes. But once the 5 sp is in it should do 100 easy.

Also you want the 4.11:1 diff, not the 4.3:1 diff.
