to be bogan you cant drive anything newer than a vl (non turbo), but usually a rusty shit bucket vb. see the lyrics to that area 7 song, "nobody likes a bogan"

I was scared by the mullets too (and the ringing in my ears and intestinal dysfunction that resulted from the volume)
bogans for the victorians, bevans for the qlders - just plain old westies for us nsw people
I've been mistaken for a bogan before (ripped board shorts, torn t-shirt, long unkempt hair and no shoes), but I'm more of a yuppie than a bogan

I agree with tripmcneily, WIGGAS are far worse! Damn funny tho..
I've worked in the Sydney CBD for a few years, and I've gotta say that in many ways I much preferred working in a shitty smash repair shop in the Liverpool industrial area. Hence I'd take a Bogan/Westie over a yuppie any day. But hey, as is so often pointed out to me, I'm a born and raised queenslander.

Try living in Neutral Bay - I almost MISS the westies (well, relative westies, coming from Thornleigh).....
All we have around here are yuppies and jocks who are 15 but look like they are 25 and look at you like you are a piece of shit stuck to their shoe.

I wouldn't mind Bogans so much if I didnt have to see/hear them and they didn't hold back our country so much in the way we are protrayed to the world.
I want this country to be the next state of the USA and I can't help but think the trash of Australia is holding us back.
What I can't understand is how powerful and respected the USA has become even though they have had to contend with Bogans.
I think Australia really needs to consider pushing all the Bogans under a blanket and only showing the world the responsible and wealthy citizens of Australia.
