Weight Reduction

Does anyone know a better way to remove this hifill stuff???
As can be seen this stuff is pretty thick... I have been using some of my favourite tools (screwdriver and big f/off hammer) to remove it, however, its not chipping off as easily now.
What should I do to finish her off? Angle grinder? bead blast?

Ooh well stuff it...
You too can now own your own piece of KE20 history with these genuine shards of hifill removed from the pocket rocket!
Only $2 per shard!

Have u thought about useing a wire disk, just like a wire brush but it hooks up to a drill and makes it go faster, it will strip paint, body filler and rust.

I would say that they have put this crap on there because they didn't know how to weld properly / neatly.
When I get all this crap off I'm going to repair the speed holes with metal not bog... I think theres probably a good 10-20 kgs of this stuff on that panel.
None of the other panels appear to have this level of filler on them.
PS It's on the driver side rear quarter of my KE20.

Looks similar to the sound deadener which im removing from my 86. But thats tar, so i guess you wouldnt have similar results with a heatgun.
Im using a combo of a chisel/hammer and heatgun/scraper. Ill use a rotary wire brush to finish off.

It looks like it was a poorly repaired bit of accident damage, however, due to the poor repairs it has started to rust which is where me and my screwdriver got involved.

1st of all WTF with the bog
there are two ways i can suggest to get it off.
1. try angle grinding it off.
2. cut and shut the quarter.
good luck

Use a twisted wire cup brush for a 4 inch angle grinder, it'll peel that crap off like butter and clean all the rusty scale back to bare metal as well. Wear some goggles and a suit of armour 'cos the little wires shoot off like spears every now and again and they hurt.
