can somebody tell me whether its simple to change the ignition switch for an ae86?
my start motor still cranks even tho my engine is running after i start it up..

My girlfriends TA22 did this the other day, Didnt have the key inserted fully

Yes, it's easy. Do a search, find the relevant page in the AE86 manual on this site

you need to replace that barrel too paul, that is also causing the problems we are experiencing.

ok..i took out the ignition switch (round white colour) and started up with the flat head screwdriver..and its still giving me the continous cranking
how do i actually test whether the switch is working or not??
if its stuffed..i wont be able to feel any 'clicks' when i turn them...but i still feel the click..
advice needed before i waste my penny on a part that is still working..

what you can do now is to trigger the ecu and the other componenet relay with a switch so it turn on.
Currently I think your components only turn on when you are cranking it and once it back to the on position at the ignition switch the delay is not trigger so other component is off.
No power to the ecu no signal to the ignition hence no power to the coil to produce spark.
Just try this method and see if it works.
