I'd Just like to know about the 5 stud pattern used on the ma70 supras..is it the same on a jzz30/uzz30 soarers and mz221 soarers? And also jzx91 chasers and mx83 cressidas.
i've heard there are various 5 stud patterns around.

Thanks guys
Blake

theyre ALL 5 x 114.3mm (4.5")

there 'may' be different offsets, but typically theyre all around the 36mm mark, nothing drmatically different

The xZZ3x Soarers and JZA80 Supras use +50mm offset. Unsure about earlier models though.

dude, have you read a single post about ma61 offsets?

+50mm offset is totally unusable on an ma61

Depends on what front struts you are using.

With RA60 struts and MS65 front hubs fitted, a 16 x 8" rim with +25 offset has about 10mm clearance to the strut tube (greater negative camber is offset by the hub being further outboard).

With MA61 struts and MS65 front hubs fitted, a 16 x 8" rim with +25 offset has about 10mm clearance to the strut tube.

With Norbs fitting MX83 stuts, I think +35 on a 8" rim is OK as well.

The offset is not the whole story, it is the rim width as well.

The best way to look at it regardless of rim width is to work out the maximum "backspacing" that can be tolerated, and then you can work out the appropriate offset given a rim width from there.

Cheers

Stock offset is +8mm, so you can forget about using 36mm rims if you're using the stock struts. As Michael mentioned MX83 struts will allow you to run much higher offset rims on the front; 35mm rims seemed to work OK but I didn't try fitting them on the back so I don't know what will happen there.

50mm rims definitely won't fit on the front even with MX83 struts; the 35mm rim I tried was only a few mm from the strut.
