Hi i have a mz11 toyota soarer 1986 model. It has a 5 speed box behing it. Not sure what type? how can i tell.
I have just purchased a 7mgte motor complete with wiring and ecu.. I am also putting a front mount intercooler which i alreayd have.
I want to know the answers to the following questions:-
What do i need to change?
what clutch kit should i use for my box that will bolt up to the 7mgte.
What boost do these motor run stock.
What boost can i run with stock internals and a front mount intercooler?
I await ur responses.

Box will be a w57 OR w58
It will bolt straight up to the 7mgte, but you will need a 7mge flywheel and 7mge pressure plate/clutch.

Sorry... this is unrelated, but what sort of front mount are you using?
I can answer these though. The stock 7M-GTE engine runs two different amounts of boost. If the engine came from a 7M Soarer it will be running 5 - 5.5psi boost. If it came from a Supra i BELEIVE it will be running either 8 or 10psi (can't remember sorry)
I would advise installing a HKS/TRD metal head gasket and using ARP bolts before changing boost levels. After adding these to my 7M i'm currently running close to 0.8 bar (around 11 psi) and i'm guessing around the 160-170 rwkw mark now with a standard intercooler

2) Use the 5MGE flywheel and clutch kit - that way you can run the gearbox that's in there. You should get an uprated pressure plate. Chat to BGT in Hawthorn.
3) 6-7 psi.
4) People will say not much more than stock with the fragile head gasket. Torque up the head before you do anything exciting - do a search and you'll find a bajillion posts. Personally I would replace it electively before I installed the motor.
