20v Black/Silver visual differences

I have searched but couldn't find the answer.
Other than the cam/spark plug covers, what are the visual differences?
Where's the AFM on a silver top? On the airbox?
Are the silver covers just painted black plastic, or are they actually silver/grey plastic?
Can you tell from the engine #?
The reason I ask, is I have a Blacktop sitting here, but the covers have been spray painted...

the covers on a proper black top, (spark plug and cam cover) are matt black and will look nice and tidy, also if you could measure the inside diametre of the silver top throttle body's as they are small than the black top ones. the black top i believe is a MAP sensored engine so this will not have an AFM. on the silver top the AFM is just after the air box. Hope this helped you out.

The blacktop has a hydraulic timing belt tensioner. The silvertop has a spring loaded type same as a smallport 16V etc...
There's a few other ways to tell them apart, but that way is the easiest.

blacktop has totally different rods, pistons & crank. cambelt length is different due to changed tensioner

Direct visual difference.. the Spark plug cover on a silver has acutal badges ie twin cam 20, the blacktop this is moulded into the cover. Blacktop have a small pipe just behind the main vacuum pipe across the top, this is for the MAP sensor, also there are two vacuum pipes on the left hand side for the brake booster, silvers have one each side (about 8mm dia). Also the Manifold on the blacktop ie section that bolts to the head is virtually square where the silvertop is varied in shape. AFM is just behind the airbox, nil on the Black.
