or i could tell the truth, and say that it looks very much like a photoshop given the glossyness of the rear end being different from the front. Looks like a promo picture of a SA63 coupe shopped onto the MA61 one.

It's definetly a photochop. The coupe only came out as a Celica, and it's wheelbase is not long enough for that nose cone.

I think its a fair representation of all that is Celica from that era - ugly.
Toyota really lost the way for a while there.

The Celica was actually quite successful in the early 80's. I think it's more accurate to say society lost its way for a while there.

Yeah thats definatley photoshopped.
The early 80s style is certainly different, i think in 20 years even considered classics.

photoshoped
1. if u neg image it you will see the large area where the smudge tool was used just above the front 1/4 blinker
2. the nose cone is on the wrong angle to the windscreen (well i think it is)
