Blowing white/blue smoke when braking - Turbo seal? Wed, 02 June 2004 11:59 Go to next message
Finally got my car running today after my clutch debarcle. When i would take my foot off the gas or brake a puff of whitish/blue smoke would come from the rear of the car, it's size depending on how hard i was pushing the car before taking my foot off. Sound like a turbo seal? BTW it was doing this a little before i changed the clutch, now it is doing it regularly.

valve guides/stem seals?

turbo seal might also leak when giving car stick (e.g. high crankcase pressure)

How hard a job is it?

Ive changed them before on a 308, but as you know completely different valvetrain. I assume getting to the valves is the hard part?
