Ok I know it's a stupid question but I've taken all the screws that I can find out and I can seem to budge the rear panel windows out of my RA40 Coupe. Is there a trick to it or have I just missed a few bolts somwhere??
Side windows? Its a while since I looked at mine ..Could easily be some more screws under that fat rubber beading you may have not pulled out yet?The actual frame onto the body under that is almost sure to be rusted...its a common problem because the frames are really lightweight non galvanised steel and they rust like crazy...I think the glass where it is "hinged" on the centre pillar just sits there tight...and once you have disconected the catch...just screws..and removed the internal trim the glass "should" come out..
If you have external rust you will need to take the external chrome trim off to get at it properly..a bastard if the trim is bent or the clips are crappy ..Interior wise the water usually runs down the inside of the car just under the removable plastic trim panel to the side of the seat and pools in the floor section under the back seat..smells great!..not..Good luck..
I have just had a look at the Body manual...uumm not as straight forward as I recall...if you can PM me with a fax number I will photocopy and fax to you..
I wrecked one there a while back, I think that you have to strip the interior and then theres a few long drive 8 mms to remove. Theres a frame that holds the window in place remove this and pull the window away form its black ruddery adhesive. Not an easy job, thats for sure.
Did this about 5 years ago when I repainted mine, and I can't remember how . But I do know that I fucked the rubbers and replaced them anyways. They had be leaking as well.
Well you got the problem head on. The water is dripping from the window and my carpets pong sooooo bad. Looks like a previous owner has tried to fix this up already as there is bog and sealant everywhere. I've done a patch with the leak sealer stuff but it's leaking from somewhere under the rubbers. Guess I might have to give my friendly local windscreen guy a call and get a quote.
