Agreed, I guess it is his friend who is selling it.
Anyway good luck with the sale.

Just at a look Id think it would be more in the region of $600, considering its got a dvd burner / 15" LCD.

No I meant $600, its secondhands so most of those things wont be worth a lot.
Secondhand prices are something like, 15" LCDs arent in big demand so you might get over $200, dvd burner $100, cpu / mboard $200, ram $100, 40gig $50. Bare in mind thats for people who know what theyre paying for, but someone who knows nothing you could get the entire amount back probably.

as i work in a pc store, it looks like it's decently priced. we sell a system package that's similar (with only a 17" CRT and CD-RW instead of a DVD-RW drive) for $999.
In any case, a free bump and good luck with the sale

I think the LCD and copy of windows may make some of the money up but who puts any value on winxp home or a small 15" LCD monitor anyway.
Brand new cost:
AIO GB Mobo - 77
2.4Ghz Celery processor - 105
512Mb DDR - 117
40Gb HDD - 75
Sony 8X DVDRW - 140
Case with PSU - 40
KB & Optical mouse pack - 55
Sub total = 609
Plus
Brand spanker 15" LCD - 460
or buy a repack from Mitsubishi for like 200
WinXP Home OEM - 150
or use the copy of winxp pro you've already got...
I agree with the 600 figure...
And IMHO the following items are not fit for sale:
-Intel Celery processors
-any hdd less than 100GB
-Any MOBO from either GB or that has on board video
-tiny screens
-WinXP home
PS all pricing came from MSY
