Breathers Mon, 02 September 2002 09:29 Go to next message
Ok ive done som research.. but im still abit off..
Can anybody point out if im on track here?

Eg. Breathers.. there would be one to the intake? (connecting from the plenum ports.. one goes to the return? and one from the airbox? the one from the airbox i presume would be the breather? both of these ports on my setup are currently blocked off.. ive done a rocker cover seal last month.. so that could of overflowed due to pressures?

ive stumbled across a site.. which has a breather kit

http://www.theoldone.com/components/breather/

ive found out the short term effect with no breather.. rev high and you break the seal (seal was old and crunchy).

so can anybody correct me on that 2nd port on the 4AGE motor.. one is the return and one goes to the airbox which is the breather?

The thing with the 4A-GE is that it has only one breather, straight from the rocker to the plenum. It's a pretty much straight pipe that hooks them up.
If you wanna get rid of it, plud the port on the plenum & run a hose from the cam cover port to a vented catch can.
You'll prolly need to adjust the idle up a bit when you block off the plenum port.

instead of a catch can what about those little filter looking things you see on cam covers? Neutral

They're alright if your motor doesnt spit out any oil
but the just fill up with oil after a while and you have a nice oily film on everything then Smile
