I received this email from a friend of mine, don't know if it is true or not but it's kinda scary thinking it might be  
Folks,
I am not sure if this is true or not, but the guy put his name phone number and Insurance Co. so I feel that if you live on the East Coast of Australia, especially Sydney, it is something to give serious consideration.

CAR JACKING SCHEME
Be aware of new carjacking scheme (This could also be used as a ploy for kidnapping)
Imagine: You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside.
Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift into REVERSE, and you look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window.
So, you shift into PARK, unlock your doors and jump out off your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.
When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off !!
Your engine was running, you would have your purse in the car and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.
BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.
Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later, and be thankful that you read this email. I hope you will forward this to friends and family especially to women! A purse contains all identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address.
They already HAVE your keys!!!!!

sounds like your everyday urban legend chain email.
in fact its probably guilty of giving people ideas rather than helping people.
i can think of 10 other ways to car jack a car or alternatively use any other urban legend subject:
- HIV needles
- razor blades in toilet paper
- poisons in drinking water
- things that give u cancer
- hoons terrorising law abiding citizens
- etc
i could just as easily stick it in an email and send it out into the world as an attempt to start a new urban legend.
just my 2c.
in fact this could be an opportunity to ask toymods members to make up a funny urban legend and post it on here. Anyone willing to give it a try?

 Just after I read the first post of this thread I checked my work email and I recieved a similar 'urban legend' email, check it:
"A few weeks ago in a movie theatre in Melbourne a person sat on
something that was poking out of one of the seats. When she got up to
see what it was she found a needle sticking out of the seat with a note
attached saying a quote; You have just been infected by HIV quote;. The
Disease control Centre in Melbourne reports many similar incidents have
occurred in many other Australian cities recently. All tested needles
are HIV Positive.
The Centre also reports that needles have been found in the cash
dispensers in ATMs. We ask everyone to use extreme caution when faced
with this kind of situation. All public chairs/seats should be inspected
with vigilance and caution before use. 17 people have been tested
positive in the Western suburbs alone in the last 2 months!!! A careful
visual inspection should be enough.
In addition they ask that each of you pass this message along to all
members of your family and your friends of the potential danger. We all
have to be careful at public places! This is very important. Just think
about saving a life of someone even you don't know by forwarding this
message. Please, take a few seconds of your time to pass it along."
Funnily enough I have recieved this very same email at two jobs I have had, both from Females!
