upgrades for solid axle t series

the car is a 1981 ra60, in the process of upgrade to ra65 and worked 308 black motor with turbo 400 box
when dyno'd on a vb commodore this same setup showed 233kw @6500rpm at wheels and 630nm @ 3250rpm
i know the standard diff wont take the power but what is the easiest, and proven tough setup for a diff for this car ?

hilux diff, good suggestion what about the gear ratio ?....need to find out somewhere what are the available LSD centres
a mate of mine has a shitty old hiace van laying around i could pick up for next to nothing, with a G series LSD disc brake diff, but this has a shitty and unusable ratio thus making the LSD also unusable as i would need to find a longer ratio

if i could get a diff that would fit straight in i wouldnt mind having to buy another centre, but if i have to weld up new mounts etc. i may as well purchase a diff that already has a tough centre and get that shortened and weld new mounts anyway
I am looking at a ford 9 inch diff, just curious to see if there are any cheaper/easier/better tried and tested methods and products available is why i posted here

I think most Hiluxs are leaf sprung, as opposed to the coil sprung celicas...this makes bolting the axle in an exercise in fabrication - as far as I know - correct me if I'm wrong.

there is NO easy upgrade for your car the only way is modify a g series or 9" diff to fit, the g series is a lot lighter and should have no problem with the power of a 308, and you can buy new gears to change the ratio rocket ind sell them.

true, cheers for that bro
i dont want to have a fully modified race car (i.e. part, holden, toyota, part ford etc.etc.)
but i do want to have a car that is
* worked on easily
* sounds pretty tough
* looks good (in my opinion)....(looks stock ra65)
* and a general all round cruiser and very occasional drag racing (on the strip not road, except to beat hondas and nissan skyline ricer people)
the g series im sure must be cheaper and bonus if it is lighter
ill go make an offer on the van tommorow...hmmm anybody want any parts of a liteace van ?.....LOL ill take the diff and dump the rest at the scrap metal yard

blimey.. supercharged or turbocharged or stroked to 400CI+?
being a relatively light car, the G series should survive if you aren't being an idiot, ie clutch dumps, burnouts, drag racing all the time. lots of ratios available too, not sure if they are low enough for the V8 grunter tho..
9" is a lot of unsprung weight .. unless you are planning to be drag raced all the time..

Just grab any old G series rear end out of a Hilux or Hiace which is about the right width for your car (a tape measure comes in handy at this point, before you ask which one you should get). Don't worry about the diff ratio or whether it's LSD because it's easy to swap the centre if you need to. The hard part will be fabricating the suspension mounting points so it will bolt up to your Celica.
