i know its a lil bit ricey but just wondering if anyone has ever seen a ae82 with twin barrel style mufflers hanging out the back??
Just thinkin bout it but not sure if there is room / heat issue near fuel tank

Have a look under the car.
You will probably find that the fuel tank is in the way on one side.
You will need a custom fuel tank to do it

u could prolly do it by splitting the other pipe off right at the rear of the car,behind the fuel tank or spare tyre well.not familar with the bottom of the car but i'm thinking it would be similar to that of a FWD celica.a dude has done it on a 4th gen.check the st162 dedicated post (last page)for pics.

will it give u extra 20kw for an extra muffler?? might try adding stickers as well..the bigger..the more kw it gives..
advice: dont even think about double muffler on each side or 2 independent mufflers on one side...

 too funny.
I actually don't mind the duel exhausts, I've been thinking of getting one for our 4AGZ AW11 (dunno if they'd suit a AE86 though) but duel cannons? Ugh. they're always ugly. I hear they are virtually pointless in performance gains also.

i don't mind if you rice it up
it's not my car
i got a 'cherry bomb' straight thru glasspack performance muffler for my 22re
and $3.95 thin walled autozone tailpipe
for that trailerpark sleeper look
 
the glasspack has better power than the perforated metal muff i had
but duz sound like a little rice mobile sometimes
and can be really really loud at wide open throttle
but is quite quiet othewise
and it wuz the cheapest muff i could find
and the sticker looks cool as drool
just get a wing that's a foot above the roof...

If you go to town on the car, and mount a 1UZFE north south, THEN, and ONLY then can you put a twin exhaust like that and not cop shit for being ricey

the only reason you would have twin exhausts opposite sides is if you had a V8 with 2 virtually straight through pipes
