Im wondering if anyone has a rough estimate of a 1ggte engine conversion into a RA40. Im not intending on doing it now...im just bored and workin a couple of facts...coz its a must do 1 day!!! I know its reasonable straight forward conversion, ive read robs pages...THANX ROB!
other than that...yeh...i know the engineering can be expensive
so wat we lookin at>

I couldn't imagine it'd be more than a few hundred providing you get it all prepared for them.

for my 1gge into ra40 my engineer charged me $400 for the brake test (plus noise and speedo while we were there) and didnt charge me for the certificate/inspection (usually $300) coz it was a simple conversion and im a poor student

rx793 realistically it all depends on the enginner, some charge a fix rate, some charge per hour. I seen one who charges 175 per hour and the enginner i am going throuh would be charging me $500 for the first inspection, this include susspension brakes seats, everything and $300 if i have to come back beucase it didnt pass first time. I have been quoted from another place just to engineer the engine the cost would be $400 but if i wanted brakes ect it would cost $700. So you can see how the prices vary, if you wanted to know the cost, ring a approved light commercial vehicle enginner up and tell them your intentions and they will give you a price.
