1jz Fuel cut?.. i think mines doing it..are these the symptoms? Wed, 09 June 2004 09:01 Go to next message
Okay im driving my car and it gets toa bout 11 psi
if you put ya foot to the floor it goes and builds up boost.. then all boost drops off... then as soon as you let off a bit it picks all the way up again.
though if u just apply throttle smoothly it goes up pretty much no worries..
is what im describing fuel cut?

should be,
coz as you go up smoothly, it is not building up boost, and hence not reaching a high enough level for fuel cut.

Shocked its a real neck jerker isnt it Laughing

1j's with stock ecu's all have this phenomenon, build boost quicker on a part throttle.

I dont think what you are experiencing is Boost cut, it is much more savage than mere boost dropping off.

You shouldnt reach boost cut till about 14 psi.

Sounds like you have some sort of rich fuel condition triggered by the WOT. (This is normal - but perhapps yours is exagerated by some factor).

when mine was running, mine was doing the same thing.

I was told that it could be the rev limiter or boost cut but it is only running 13psi. Mine is auto though.

Actually if it is because of a mega rich mixture that could be it, because the dumb ass mechanic couldn't be bothered to refit the 02 sensor and as you can imagine my plugs were drenched!

So the only fix to Johal's problem is a fuel computer?
