1UZ firing order and wasted spark config.

Just doing my research it seems that the 1UZ firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 - in its standard config.
I want to run aftermarket ignition control, with, 4 lots of paired coils, in a wasted spark setup.
What cylinders do I pair together per coil? I'm guessing ;
1&6, 8&5, 4&7 and 3&2
Anyone?

At a quick guess without thinking about it, pair up whatever injectors are paired up.
Failing that method being correct, go with what you wrote above.

hmm, i wouldn't want to pair up coils the same as injectors ; the injectors from what i gather are paired as 1&7, 2&8, 4&6 and 3&5....wasted spark runs on the exhaust stroke of the opposite cylinder, so i don't think i'd want to be putting fuel there at the same time somehow.....or does batched fuel injection do this anyway?

Yeah, ignore my injector pairing theory, I forgot how they were connected (and yes, the pairings are as you have stated)
And you have the firing order correct.
So yeah pair up the coils as per TDC and BDC

They wont be TDC-BDC, they will be TDC-TDC.

Yeah, you're right Greg. Forget injectors etc., all you have to do is make sure the cylinders you pair are fired 1 revolution apart.

will pull plugs and turn over by hand to confirm. only way to be 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000% (how many percent) sure.

wouldnt it be
either
16 85 47 12 just a guess as when 1 is at comp maybe 6 is at exhaust
or
12 87 45 36
this is similar way we do the nissan 6 cly i think
