Preparing an N/A engine for forced inducion.

A side from intake piping, Intercooler and all the "bolt on" parts of creating a Forced induction motor, what has to be done to the engine itself.
Currently I want to lower the compression (first I need to work out the current compression in N/A form) But I'm likely to be lowering the compression a fair bit (10.5 down to around 8.5-9)
Will I run into issues using thick metal HG, should I replace the head bolts with ARP items so I can torque the head down more?
I want to run around 15lb boost (possibly Nitrous as well)
The injectors will be upgraded, and the valve springs/seal need looking at.
But is there any thing else? This will be a street car with occasional strip use.
Cheers
Simon.

Is this for the 18RG?
What are your power targets?
I'd be making sure that the oiling system is well and truly up to the task, prefferably a higher volume pump if you can get it along with a higher capacity sump and an oil cooler.
Other than that it's going to be engine specific. I'm sure there are some engines out there that have a tonne of problems with oil control and blowby when they are feed a bit of boost but it's got to be looked at on an engine by engine basis.

Yep the 18R-GEU.
Power wise as much as I can get but No more than 150rwkw I don't really want to start playing with the bottom end too much.
This is really a learning curve sort of thing as I've never pulled an engine down or taken a head off. there are unanswered questions as to the current compression and engine size (ie could be 2.4lt probably 2.2lt) that I would like to investigate and basically get a little more aquanted with the internals of an engine and I'd like to replace the valve seals and springs while I'm there.
I do know that I'd like to drop the compression as a minimum, and I have a feeling the oil pump isn't a standard Item or it has been rebuilt. The whole engine was rebuilt only 40,000k's ago as an N/A track engine before I got it. unfortunatly the builder was doing 2 18R's simultaniously and can't remember the specs for each.
The Sump I'll have to look into.
BTW: I'll be super charging it with either S/C 12 or 14 depending on if I can fit a 14 in or not.

Sorry guys, but when I saw the topic my first thought was
Step 1: approach slowly so you don't frighten the motor

Simon, I recommend reading maximum boost. It addresses the likely areas for upgrade when turbo an N/A engine.
Take what you need and leave the rest.
