suspension setup for off road ta22

now i know alot of this forum is based on 'street' performance, but i, being a bit of a country bumpkin, spend most of my time driving my ta22 down old fire tracks and what not. This is really fun (in my opinion) except my car has stock suspension. It really gets hammered hard on alot of the rocky roads i go down and i can feel its really taking its toll on it. Is there anyone here that has any knowledge/suggestions for a suspension setup for these conditions?
ANY advice would be appreciated

heheh Yep...
I've had shocks die twice on me now... Both times have been after I've been hammering it on dirt...
But yeah, good shocks will control the car much better so will give you more control of the car.

control is definatly what it needs. a many o times has it been spun out down embankments and into paddocks lol. stoopid throttle steering on clay lol
thanks for the feedback btw, i was a little unsure if anyone would reply.
just one question, you say good shocks, i take it ones that will withstand alot of punishment?
overall, should be i looking for soft or hard suspension? i figure softer because it do go down some rocky roads, but will that reduce the overall control of the car?
o and prolly as uve worked out, im not to knowledgable on cars (well mechanically lol), so is there any recommends for a certain set of shocks? brand? model?
thanks again!

When I lowered my car with upgraded springs and shocks, I figured the car would be terrible on dirt.
To my surprise, it became an absolute joy to drive on dirt! It's incredibly nimble and controllable.
Basically, firm springs help by keeping your car flat while firm shocks control everything that the bumps throw at you.

You don't need to lower your car to get firmer shocks....
You can keep it the same height, or even raise it with firmer springs. The centre of gravity won't be as low so it won't handle as well, but better that than hitting a rock and ripping half your car from under you!
