Compression Increase on AW11 MR2

Quick question.....
Is it possible to use the 100Kw GT piston (4age, 100Kw, which have 10.5:1 compression Ratio) in a AW11 88Kw engine to increase compression? (Up from the 9.4:1 Compression)
Can this be done using the OLD 88Kw ECU?
Thanks in advance......

I'm not the one to answer, but I am fairly sure you can use the pistons, so long as the piston pin is the same diameter, which I think it is. You can probably use the same computer, but I would back off the static ignition timing to start with.

does the ge in your aw-11 have red and black writting on the cam covers? if so it should have 20mm pins the same as a ze motor.(apparently all the insides of the red and black ge are the same as a ze, apart from the pistons themselves).
you might need to do a bit of homework with the computer side of it though, i do believe they are set up for a specific compression ratio.
it would be good though with the higher compression, really make it get up and go!

as long as you have the aussie delivered type of aw11 ('87+) you have the 7 rib block - therefore you can just refit a set of 100kw pistons. we have done this mod (with exhaust etc) and it made a huge difference.
Coincidentally i happen to have a set of 100kw pistons & rods for sale...(and a set of 20v pistons too)

Thanks all for the reply......
At the moment my engine doesn't sound to healthy, as I can hear the big ends at start up, so it's still a while to go before I get problems with the engine.
Unfortunetly, I'm not too sure if it's the 7rib 4age or 3 rib...
About 1 year ago, I replaced the engine from a corolla... Not sure what the specs are on this engine, as the old MR2 4age engine blew up. (Alas, swapped it for the rolla engine)
What I have noticed though is that it doesn't have EGR system
(removed) and the O2 sensor has been cut (The one in the cast iron manifold, not sure if there should be one in there)
Hey _T_.... How much are you selling the 100Kw pistons for?
When you performed the piston swap on the AW11, did you have to do anything else to get it running? What size exhaust did you upgrade to.... Exhaust is something that needs to be done as well.
Thanks
MIKE.

mike,
we did a light rebuild on the motor - new rings, bearings, gaskets, surfaced block & head, honed bvores etc. i also did a little porting as well.
exhaust system was made up out of a set of black-top 20v extractors (modified) a high-flow 2.5" cat, and a truck muffler. ran really well. (we also fitted a 6 sbeed box to the car at the same time - made it a ball to drive!!)
100kw or 20v piston set, inc rods $150 a set.
