Hi all, i have recently taken aquired myself an AE86 with a 4A-GZE engine fitted, currently it doesent like cold starts (at all) you have to sit there for a few minutes with your foot keeping the revs up otherwise the engine wont stay alive. I was told it was just becasue the computer hasnt been tuned for cold starts, its a microtech ltx-8, i have the hand controller with it, so if anyway could advise what should be done i would be gratefull. If anyone has a link for how to tune/use the hand controller for the mircotech id love to read a bit about it. Thanks guys. Chris

Sorry i can't be of any true help, but once it is set up properly it should start and run smoothly at any temps. Mine has cold started from -7 through to over 40 and starts first go and runs factory smooth straight away. But I had someone tune mine for me.
Do a google search and some of the microtech manuals should come up, I downloaded one over a year ago for an MTX and handset, but can't remember the site now.
Good luck with it.
I am sure someone on here will offer some useful advice when they read this post.

10sec_rx7 from these forums is a microwreck tuner, he should be able to help with tuning issues.
Another though is - how high is the idle set, and do you have cold air idle up bypass hooked up at all?

get it tuned professionally but you will have to leave the car at the workshop long enuf for them to give it a couple of goes. ie. start from cold warm up and repeat.
