You know how turbo timers allow your turbo to cool down before the engine shuts down? Well, can they be used for say, a Rotary engine where it needs to be cooled down for 20 mins before turning it off to reduce wear? Even for a regular piston engine?
Cheers!

Cooled down for 20 minutes! Are you sure about that? And yes a turbo timer can be used on any car.

Yeah, apparently you are supposed to warm them up for 20 mins and cool them down for 20 mins. Thats what my grandfather reckons anyway; he used to have a series 2 RX7.

i highly doubt it is 20 minutes. I know a lot of people that drive rotaries and none of them leave it for that long. Also, it is better to let them cool down while you are driving, you just have to putt home the last couple of kilometres as the airflow helps cool it down a lot more than if it is just sitting there idling.

imagine the fuel consumption if every1 cooled their performance vehicle for 20 mins after each time they used it. U could do the shopping and be the time u got out it would be only just switching itself off.
