Sorry Stephan, I can't give you the exact measurements right now, but I will probably have them next weekend (when I visit my car again). However if you want to know if you can get some shorter strut inserts for the RA60 struts....it's easy. The SA165? (I think thats what they were for) celica inserts are 50mm shorter in stroke and body. ie full extension 100mm shorter, full compression 50mm shorter etc. I'm getting the adjustable konis on mine, and I'll have to shorten the strut tube by 50mm, but you could put a spacer under the insert if you wanted to keep the strut tube the same length.
As far as I know this information is correct...but if its not I'm screwed!
I'll post up the exact measurements next week some time if you want.

Thanks for replying. I've seen that thread before... the problem is, Monroe isn't quite to be trusted. They list RA28 & ra60 as the same - they are interchangeable, but they arn't the same.
The other problem with other listings I've found on the net is that people measure the body etc differently, so I can't be sure I'm comapring apples with apples

Thanks Seadog, that would be great if you could. I have ~1" drop king springs and have some 30mm RCAs waiting to go in - I'm pretty sure rear sw20 Mr2 are exactly what I want, I just want to compare them with stock to be 100% sure of what I have to do beforehand. Would rather not cut the strut down if I don't have to.
BTW it's ST162/5

Sorry I took so long to get this! Had some delays with my Konis, which still haven't arrived....so the struts are still in the car. So here are the measurments as accurately as I could get them.
From where the strut bolts to the steering arm, to the top of the strut tube (not including the large nut that holds the insert in) was about 480mm.
And from the bottom to the top (@ full extension) was about 680mm. So that would make the travel a shade less than 200mm (because of the nut).
Hope this helps. I will have more accurate measurments when my konis arrive and I pull everything apart.

Ok I now have the accurate measurements!
The RA60 strut tube is 424mm long. That is from the steering knuckle to the top of the tube (not including the nut that holds the insert in).
So the total extended length was about 624mm
And when the strut is fully compressed only the threaded part of the shaft protrudes (roughly 25mm?)
The insert was 407mm = body length, 610mm = total extended length.
