Hi, im looking at doing a 1ggte twin turbo swap into my KE30, and was just wondering how difficult it would be to fit one in it, And will it fit?
And does any1 have some rough dimensions of a 1ggte???

could be difficult to fit. the 1G only just fits in TA2x engine bays..
i'd be more concerned as to if you can get it legal, and the the handling from such a big heavy motor in the front of a KE..

fitting a W box in the KE tunnel could also be a problem.

actually not so difficult, it JUST fits in a ke70 engine bay with thermo fans, so should be the same for a ke30. you might want to measure firewall-to-radiator distance between those two models

you'll need to enlarge the transmission tunnel to fit the gearbox in if it's a W55, i've heard W50s are smaller but just a rumor

it will make the front of the car very heavy, a mate of mine had a ke70 pano with a 1ggte, he said it was awesome in a straight line and did huge burnouts, turning wasn't so good Razz

i don't think you'd fit such an engine in a ke20 or 10 without more trouble than it's probably worth

so a 1G-GTE should fit in my ke30 but only just? Does anyone have the firewall-to-radiator distance between ke30 and ke70?
How exactly do u enlarge the transmission tunnel to fit the gearbox in ? and how hard is it to do?

Yeh I know i should go and do some measuring but i live 60km away from the nearest wreckers so i dont have anyway to get there at moment. Does anyone know what sort od engine mounts would bolt up?? What type of gearbox would be best to use??

that's a bit unfortunate for you, however being in the country (?) i'm sure you know how to weld and make pieces of angle iron yourself, as nothing will bolt up. it's a very customised job

you use a W5x gearbox, you'll need to modify the corolla's transmission tunnel for it to fit, as the gearbox is huge

i have written a conversion section of the faq for questions such as this, check it out at http://wwww.superjamie.net/oldcorollas/

off the top of my head, i would say no, nobody here knows. i'll ask my mate who had the 1g ke70 when i see him next

an ma70 is a pretty big car, at a guess it wouldn't fit easily. anything can be made to fit if you try hard enough. acoustic in malaysia put like an ae101 dash or something in his 20v ke70. there has been talk on rollaclub.com of using a gen 1 rx7 dash because they are same width as a 70, but nobody's done it or even got a spare dash to try

a guy at willowbank is running 10s in a stock L300 van with a 350 chev, so i'd say so

lots of people talk about diff upgrades on here, look around
