Clutch type vs Cone type LSD

I was talking to someone who rallies a Ford Falcon on the weekend, and the topic of LSD's came up and I told him about my plans to either get a TRD LSD or a BW78 LSD for my car.
Anyway, he recommended that I go with a TRD LSD (even though for the same sort of money I don't get the rear discs) because he recons the clutch type LSD's work much better and don't wear out as quickly because there's a lot more surface area to wear, where's the cones in the BW78 tend to wear rather quickly and don't work as well...
What do you think?

Yep true. The very nature of a cone style LSD means it destroys itself over time to work, and they don't work well when hot anyway. Clutches are better, but gears are the best!

Yep. I'd assume so.
