Another alternative would be a 2tgze

ie a supercharged 2tgeu

Bolts in with no need for conversion of mounts , just wire in the loom and hook up a superdoopecharger from the 4agze Smile

much EASIER to install - and the money you ave will buy you the bits around it needed + extras

Do a search on tim frosts 4sfed ta22 - youll drool !!!

Wouldn't a 3sgte be a better option? I know it sit's high and stuff but considering the new engine mounts needed either conversion, you could place it forward and low.

For 2tgze, it would be better to use the SC14 blower off the 1ggze, not 4agze SC12.

the 1g blower was too big according to tim - just had no room

The 3tgte is good - BUT - theres a lot of other stuff you need to do like modifying oil return lines i think , stronger clutchers - possible W series box swap ETC..

you can happily run a 3tgte on a standard t50 with a stronger clutch plate + stock diff - but theres always the factor with a motor like that - would you need to upgrade MORE later , whereas a 2tgeu supercharged wouldnt blow apart the gear you have already there - cause they produce a little less power and have a little more limitation for modifying further
Anyway - its just another idea on the burner

Another idea i just thought of would be a stroked 2tgeu - and turbo that .. Exhaust manifold is the same as the 3tgte i believe , and you could get a turbo setup from that .. Plus you loose the iffy twin spark head - and replace it with the better flowing 2tG head

There is a webpage on this actual conversion too from start to finish - i can chase the WWW up if you want

In the articles section there's a feature on installing a 4A-GZE in a TA-22.
If you havn't seen it already.....

EDIT: whoops, maybe not, but there's one on putting a GZE into a sprinter, which would be similar, and one on putting a $a-GE in a TA-22, so that's pretty much more than you need.

I have looked at all the articles and I am start to come around to 4AGTE conversion. I was wondering what the cost is of conversion similar to the article? Arent the 2T and 3T getting old, more difficult and expensive to play with?
