I did mine just recently into an ae92 sx. Goes pretty hard, but I really have nothing to compare to since I've never driven anything faster than a carby corolla before. It probably wouldn't be as fast as a gze sprinter since its a little heavier.
Pretty much all the info you need is here or at www.twincam.org. Also check out www.rollamods.com. There's a guide on how to do the conversion there.
ae92 halfcut to ae92 corolla is easiest as it all bolts in, same with ae101 cut to ae101 corolla. You can swap between models, its just that wiring will be a little bit more difficult, and you'll need to change some other stuff. Still fairly easy as far as conversions go.
I used the gze gearbox, it's much stronger than the NA boxes. Mine also has LSD which was an option on the ae101's.
Go to www.twincam.org, there's about a dozen people who have done this conversion, and some that know it inside out.

Yep, just get an ae101 halfcut. I did the conversion myself with the help of a mate. From start to finish it took about 4 months, but we had never done anything bigger than an oil change before.
I did the conversion for the experience, if I wanted another gze corolla I think I would just buy one already done.
