4AGZE 0r 4AGE 20V - which way to go. Wed, 16 June 2004 21:06 Go to next message
Am currently in the process of planning engine conversion on AE92 'rolla and not sure which way to go. I am leaning towards 4AGZE but they seem to be getting hard to get and am thinking about 4AGE 20V Blacktop and 6 speed as they seem to be easier to get. Also should I wait for AE92 frontcut as the conversion would be easier or is an AE101 just as good an option. Any ideas or opinions?

Replacement bits are expensive on the blacktop.
GZE's go harder, are easier to extract more power from if you feel the need, and you dont need to wring the neck outta them to get anywhere.

i would say a 6-speed would be harder to find than a gze, plus gze = more torque = win Cool

this is a very common question here in this forum.
Youll be more happy with a 4agze, more torque from the lower rev range, while the 20v its all the way up the top and still those engines are overrated from toyota, a guy from the club4ag forum posted a dyno figure of the flywheel the vt solenoid off and on, in on mode it didnt match toyotas figures of that engine, its running 7hp lover from the original figure(blacktop)
I just dont no how to post pictures from my hard drive to this forum or i could show you the figures paper, does someone know?
Not saying its a bad engine, a 20v levin with carbon fiber doors and bonnet, tittanium exhuast is still on my wish list.
It will cost the same(silver top is cheaper).
