Hey guys I was reading a thread about the filter on the mx83 or more specifically the 7mge, being too small and not flowing particularly well.
What mods has anyone done to increase air flow?? Is a pod-filter the way to go. I was thinkin of cutting the face off the air box to make a larger intake area, and using an aftermarket replacement filter.
Iv'e got a pod filter on my 7MGE, main reason was because the airbox didn't fit in my car. Never drove the car with the stocker filter so i don't know about an performance gains. Though it does have some nice induction noise.
also I have the later model with the different airflow meter which I have been told flows a liitle better. Don't know if you can put i on the earlier ones though.
The pod probably grabs hot air. I haven't run any ducting to it. It was a rush job to get in the car. As I say the only real reason that it is in the is cause the standard Box didn't fit.
