Toyota Soarer CD stacker Fri, 18 June 2004 12:38 Go to next message
My CD stacker just died (its the factory one out of a 91 toyota soarer) and i would like to know if im better off getting the laser repaired for around $400 or trying to get another one from some where, and if i was to try and just find another one where the hell would i find one? (I'm a Gold Coast local). If anyone could help me i would really appreciate it.

Do you really want that stacker anyway?

You should be able to pick up a decent Pioneer or other brand name stacker new for around the same price.

If you want to replace the stacker without having to replace the head-deck you will probably find that the factory one is a rebadged brand name unit

"The Witzl" seems to know a lot on these subjects... Send him a PM if you want to know what if any non oem stackers will work with your deck.

Those things always screw up. It's a common problem with just about every soarer, along with the steering column and front light fogging up. The sound system is just awesome though when it's running.

Ours worked, but it skipped all the time and only played certain CD's... I think it's mainly because CD's in cars would have been such early technology then.. (ours was a 91 too)

Does your Soarer come with the TV Screen/stock computer sound system? I'm not sure, but I don't know if you can attatch a aftermarket CD Changer to that system... You might want to try looking at a soarer site. I remember I found a couple that were good, but that was years ago so I can't remember.
