1JZ Oiling plug or misfire????

My f*ckin car is shitting me to tears. Have 1jz and Haltech and everything has been running fine but as the weather got cold in Tas. the car started misfiring when cold and it steadily got worse. I thought the tuning was not right but its ok. I changed the plugs and was then dropping a cylinder so i pushed all the coil pack wires in harder and it ran fine.....for a week. It started doing it again so I took it over to a mates place and on the way there I spat it and thrashed the shit out of it and it ran clean. Now its started missing again. Has anyone had any coil pack dramas???? How do you test them? Any other ideas what it may be?

does it miss on idle?
If so you can take the plugs off each coil pack one at a time and when the idle doesn't change you will have found which cylinder it is. Then swap the coil packs...see if it changes. Then swap plugs see if it changes. Then you could pull injector plugs see if it changes.
