chances are pretty high.. all you need to do is ask both an Aus and US locksmith for the profile number of the key... they should use the same naming systems...

and being a car of japanese origin, seems odd they would be different.

a friend of mine is a locksmith
he used to own a VP commonwhore, so did his sister in law.
she used to lock her keys in her car all the time, and on one occasion when he went to open it for her he decided to try his car keys...they opened the doors, but wouldnt turn in the igntion.

he's tried it on heaps of other VP's he's seen around(only on the doors) seams that 1 in 5 he can open(on average)

Another reason not to buy a Commodore!!!
Pretty much every model can be broken into, I spoke to a car theif one day (yes i wanted to hit him), but i wanted to make sure it's hard to break into a car like mine *slaps forehead*, anyway he said he could break into commodores from VB all the way to VS, without using a brick or being noticed.
And just for the books: I DO NOT MIX WITH THESE PEOPLE, just happened to be a friend of a friend of a friend of a guy he doesn't even know's friend. sumthin like dat
